Reinforced lower link ball Cat. 1 made from hardened 20MnCr5 steel
With this lower link ball, the main focus is on material quality: 20MnCr5 is an alloyed case-hardening steel used for components exposed to high mechanical loads. In its hardened version, the ball is significantly more resistant to pressure marks, wear-in and abrasion on the contact surfaces.
Especially with frequent implement changes, high support loads or lateral movement in the lower link area, localised loads occur on the ball, hook end and pin. The hardened surface reduces material loss at these points and helps keep play in the connection low for longer. This not only extends the service life of the ball, but also protects the adjoining components.
