LEHNER AgroDos 22 (2-row, electric) granule spreader
LEHNER AgroDos® granule spreader – precise application in potato cultivationThe AgroDos® granule spreader from LEHNER was developed for targeted use in potato cultivation. It enables controlled application of granules and supports even distribution directly during the work process. The technology is aimed at farms that value traceable results and clean application. What makes the AgroDos® stand out in use?At its core is the cell wheel metering unit, which enables very fine dosing. It is complemented by the automatic reversing function: when switched off, the system briefly turns back so that no material continues to run unintentionally. This ensures clear transitions, for example when turning or lifting the machine. How is the application rate controlled? The rate is regulated via the speed of the cell wheel metering unit and can be adjusted flexibly. This allows the spreader to be adapted to different requirements, such as changing granules or field conditions. How does operation work in everyday use?Control is carried out via an operating unit in the tractor cab with a clear display. Settings such as start and stop, application rate or row spacing can be made directly. Calibration tests can also be saved, which saves time for recurring applications. When does the spreader start and stop automatically? The AgroDos® is coupled with a monitoring system that detects whether the implement is raised or lowered. Application only takes place while driving and when the machine is lowered. When it is lifted, the system stops automatically – reducing missed spots and overlaps. What applications is the system intended for?It is used mainly in potato cultivation, particularly for applying crop protection granules. Depending on the setup, the spreader can be integrated into various machines and can also be incorporated into multi-row systems. Is the AgroDos® tested? The granule spreader has been tested by the Julius Kühn Institute (JKI). It therefore meets the requirements for equipment used in the field of crop protection. What is included in the equipment? The scope of delivery includes, among other things, distribution elements, hoses and connection cables. This allows the spreader to be integrated into existing technology and put into operation directly.Who is the AgroDos® suitable for?The spreader is intended for farms and contractors that apply granules in potato cultivation. It is especially useful where clean work is required – with no trickling after shut-off, no overlaps and with settings that can be retrieved in exactly the same way for the next use.

The blower system actively distributes the material via 8 outlets – independently of wind or driving speed, provided the setting remains constant. How accurately does the spreader work?Metering up to approx. 30 kg/ha possibleEven distribution via 8 hosesInfinitely variable adjustment of blower output and metering rateConstant material flow thanks to integrated agitatorAs usual, accuracy depends on calibration, driving style and spreading material. Clean adjustment is essential for reproducible results. How is the AirDos® controlled?Operation is carried out via the LAS4 control unit in the cab. Blower, metering and functions can be controlled directly from here. Warning messages are also displayed, for example in the event of voltage deviations. Is automatic rate control available?AUTO-DOSIS is optionally available. This automatically adjusts the application rate to the driving speed. This is particularly useful when:work is frequently carried out at changing speedsa constant application rate per hectare is importantHow flexible is its use?The AirDos® is usually mounted on cultivators, harrows, rollers or other implements. The aim is to integrate sowing or fertilisation directly into existing work processes. This eliminates an additional pass.Technical key dataWorking width: 0.8 – 4 mNumber of outlets: 8Drive: 12 V, blower and metering separateHopper sizes: approx. 110 l or 170 lInfinitely variable control of blower and meteringImportant questions before purchaseDoes the spreader fit my implement?Mounting is carried out individually – bracket and hose routing must match the implement. Will my spreading material work reliably?Very fine or moist materials can affect flow behaviour – the agitator helps, but does not replace clean material quality.Do I need AUTO-DOSIS?Recommended for changing speeds or when exact kg/ha rates must be maintained. How much effort is required for adjustment?A calibration test is necessary to set the desired rate precisely.ConclusionThe LEHNER AirDos® is a solution for farms that want to integrate spreading work directly into existing processes. The focus is on even distribution, simple control and flexible mounting – less on maximum area output.

LEHNER SuperVario 110 (LAS4 control unit) all-round spreader
Lehner SuperVario – the versatile 12-volt spreader for precise application in agricultureThe Lehner SuperVario is a true all-round spreader for farms that want to dose seed, cover crops, slug pellets and other granules cleanly and apply them precisely. Thanks to the 12-volt drive, the spreader works independently of PTO or hydraulics. This is a major advantage especially when work steps need to be combined, time saved and implements used flexibly.Flexible use from grassland to cover cropsWhether grassland overseeding, applying cover crops or targeted distribution of slug pellets: the SuperVario covers a wide range of applications. The working width can be continuously adjusted from 2 to 24 metres. This is made possible by an adjustable spreading disc with 200 to 3,000 rpm. As a result, application can be adapted much better to the spreading material, area of use and driving style than with simple standard systems.More control over metering and spreading patternFor users in everyday work, one thing matters above all: a reproducible result. This is exactly where the Lehner SuperVario shows its strengths. The spreading rate is set via the metering slide, while the spreading pattern can be adjusted using continuously variable throwing vanes. The standard LAS4 control unit enables convenient operation from the cab. In addition, visual and acoustic warning messages help, for example in the event of a low remaining quantity, speed deviations or the slide position not being reached.Robust construction for everyday agricultural useAnyone who regularly uses a spreader in the field needs a solid construction. The SuperVario is equipped with a robust 300-watt electric motor. The slide and spreading disc are made of stainless steel, and the hopper has a relief roof and an outlet spout for convenient residual emptying. Tool-free hopper mounting and the waterproof distribution box are also practical details that make a real difference in daily use.Which version suits your farm? The Lehner SuperVario is available in different hopper sizes. This allows the system to be selected to suit operating time, field size and vehicle. If you want to work as compactly as possible, a smaller hopper size makes sense. For longer operations without refilling, a larger volume is recommended. Depending on the version, the spreader is available with a classic control unit or as a LISA version with app control. This is particularly interesting for users who deliberately want to avoid additional cables in the cab.Optionally with speed-dependent meteringFor even greater precision, the SuperVario is optionally available with AUTO-DOSIS. Here, the slide position is automatically adjusted to the driving speed so that the desired application rate per hectare remains constant. This is especially worthwhile with changing driving speeds, uneven field conditions or wherever even distribution is particularly important. Our conclusion on the Lehner SuperVarioThe Lehner SuperVario is the right choice for anyone looking for a flexibly mountable, precisely adjustable and robustly built 12-volt spreader. It is particularly strong wherever different granules are to be applied with just one system and clean adaptation to working width, spreading material and application situation is required. This makes the SuperVario suitable both for classic agricultural applications and for specialised uses with high demands on metering accuracy and operating comfort.
Use the filters above the products to narrow down the spreading technology specifically according to your requirements. This helps you find the right spreader faster for the application area, spreading material, container size and other important features – clearly arranged, time-saving and without a long search.
Frequently asked questions about spreading technology
A hose spreader guides the spreading material specifically through hoses to defined outlets. This allows the material to be delivered very evenly and in a controlled manner to the desired placement point. This is particularly interesting for cover crop seeding, fine seed, microgranules or other free-flowing materials where targeted distribution is important.
A disc spreader, on the other hand, distributes the spreading material broadly over the area using a rotating spreading disc. This principle is especially suitable when larger working widths and broad-area application are required.
Put simply: hose spreaders are more about targeted distribution, while disc spreaders are more about broad spreading. Which solution fits better depends on the spreading material, the desired distribution and the respective application area.
Many spreaders in spreading technology are generally suitable for cover crop seeding. However, the key factor is always whether the respective model is designed for the desired seed, the intended application rate and the desired working width.
Especially with smaller seeds, mixtures or sensitive seed, even conveying, clean metering and suitable distribution are essential. That is why you should not only consider the container size, but always also the conveying principle and suitability for the specific spreading material.
To help you find the right machine faster, we offer a filter by spreading material in the shop. If you select the desired application or the suitable spreading material there, you will be shown the models suitable for it.
So the important point is: A spreader can be suitable for cover crop seeding if the model, seed and operating conditions match.
Generally yes – but not with every spreader and not with every version. Whether a spreader is suitable for slug pellets depends above all on the metering capability, material flow and approval of the respective model.
Slug pellets place different demands on a spreader than seed or fertiliser. That is why you should always check before use whether the spreader is intended for this material and whether the desired application rate can be set accurately.
To help you find the right model faster, you can filter specifically by spreading material in our shop. If you select slug pellets there, you will be shown the spreaders suitable for this purpose.
For practical use, the following applies: Slug pellets should only be applied with spreaders suitable for this purpose.
This is always model-dependent. Not every spreader that is suitable for seed, fertiliser or cover crops may automatically also be used for salt, sand or other winter service materials.
These materials differ significantly in weight, flow behaviour and, in some cases, in the stress they place on the machine. That is why the conveying technology, metering and material design must match the respective application.
For better orientation, you can also narrow down the selection in our shop using the spreading material filter. This shows you specifically the models that are suitable for the desired application material.
Important: Salt, sand or similar materials should only be applied if the respective model is expressly intended for this purpose.
A general statement on the permissible grain size is rarely useful, because size alone is not the deciding factor. Equally important are grain shape, moisture, flowability, dust content and the uniformity of the material.
Fine, dry and evenly granulated spreading material is usually easier to meter than coarse, irregular or moist material. Mixtures can also place different demands on the spreader depending on their composition.
Therefore, the following applies: The permissible grain size and suitability of the spreading material always depend on the respective model and the specific material.
There is no fixed driving speed that always fits. The appropriate speed depends on the spreading material, application rate, working width, conveying capacity and desired spreading pattern.
If you drive too fast, it may no longer be possible to maintain the desired amount per area accurately. If you drive too slowly, the application may become unnecessarily uneven or uneconomical.
In practice, the right driving speed is therefore always the one at which application rate and spreading pattern match properly. A test area or a short trial run is often useful for this.
After use with fertiliser, the spreader should be completely emptied and thoroughly cleaned. Residues in the container, in the metering unit or at the outlets can impair function and put long-term strain on components.
In practice, cleaning is primarily carried out with clean water. The container, conveying paths and outlets should be rinsed thoroughly. For exterior cleaning, a high-pressure cleaner can also be used if required. Stubborn residues can additionally be removed with brushes or suitable cleaning agents. Finally, compressed air can be used to loosen remaining particles from hard-to-reach areas and dry the machine.
It is important that especially conveying paths, sliders, metering points and hard-to-reach areas are checked and cleared of residues. Lines, distributors and moving parts should also be kept clean after use.
Anyone who regularly works with fertiliser should maintain the spreader consistently. Careful cleaning after each use contributes significantly to the function and service life of the machine.
There is no blanket better or worse here. Which drive type makes sense depends on which carrier vehicle is available, what area output is required and how flexibly the spreader is to be used.
Electric spreaders are often interesting when flexible retrofitting and a simple 12-volt power supply are desired. Mechanical or hydraulic systems can offer advantages if the carrier vehicle is already designed for them or if there are higher requirements for integration and continuous operation.
The decisive factor is therefore not the drive type alone, but the question of which system best matches the machine, application profile and spreading material.
The right container size depends on operating duration, application rate, refill intervals and the available carrier vehicle. A larger container reduces refill breaks, but at the same time increases weight, space requirements and demands on the machine.
A container that is too small can disrupt the workflow if it has to be refilled very frequently. A container that is too large, on the other hand, is not automatically the better choice if it places unnecessary strain on the carrier vehicle or makes the machine difficult to handle.
The right container size is therefore always the one that enables economical work while also sensibly matching the application and the machine.
Whether a carrier vehicle is suitable depends on several technical points. These include, above all, power supply or hydraulics, mounting options, load capacity, available space and the position of the spreader on the vehicle.
In addition, it should be checked whether the vehicle suits the desired working method in practical use. This includes, for example, operability, visibility of the working area, routing of lines, weight distribution and safe mounting.
Before buying, the following therefore applies: A carrier vehicle is suitable if it meets the technical requirements of the spreader and enables safe, clean application.
