Reinforced lower link ball CAT 4 made of hardened 20MnCr5 steel
This CAT 4 lower link ball is designed for high loads. With large mounted implements and heavy three-point connections, high surface pressures occur on the pin, ball and catch hook. This is exactly where hardened 20MnCr5 steel offers its advantage: the surface is wear-resistant, while the base material provides the necessary load capacity for tough applications.
The hardening ensures that the contact surfaces wear in less quickly. This is especially important when large implements are moved, lifted or operated with changing pulling directions. Under such conditions, a softer ball can develop pressure marks more quickly, causing play and making the connection work less smoothly.
The reinforced version helps keep the ball geometry stable for longer.
