Reinforced lower link ball with guide cone CAT 2-1 made of hardened 20MnCr5 steel
This CAT 2-1 lower link ball with guide cone combines the category 2 ball size on the outside with a category 1 inner diameter. It is therefore suitable when a CAT 2 receiver is used with a smaller CAT 1 pin size.
A resistant ball is especially important with such transition sizes, because play at the smaller inner bore quickly becomes noticeable. The hardened 20MnCr5 steel reduces wear marks at the pin contact and better protects the loaded surfaces from pressure marks. This keeps the ball dimensionally accurate for longer and seated more cleanly in the connection.
The guide cone also offers a practical advantage when coupling: the lower link is guided more precisely into the catch hook when approaching. This is especially helpful when different implements, older attachment parts or mixed category combinations are in use.
