Reinforced top link ball CAT 2 made of hardened 20MnCr5 steel
This reinforced CAT 2 top link ball is designed for regular use on top link hooks and pin connections. Compared with softer standard balls, the hardened 20MnCr5 steel provides a significantly more robust contact surface against wear.
With frequent implement changes, the ball is repeatedly subjected to point loads: during hooking in, when settling under load and during movements between the top link hook and pin. The hardened surface reduces pressure marks and material loss exactly in these contact zones.
This ensures a ball that remains dimensionally accurate for longer and a cleaner connection. Less wear means less play, less rattling and less unnecessary stress on adjacent components. The electrochemical coating complements the hardening with additional surface protection.
