Reinforced top link ball CAT 3-2 made of hardened 20MnCr5 steel
This CAT 3-2 top link ball combines the category 3 ball size on the outside with a category 2 inner diameter. It is useful when a larger receiver is used, but the pin corresponds to the smaller CAT 2 size.
With such mixed combinations, wear in the inner bore is particularly annoying because even slight material loss can lead to noticeable play. The hardened surface of the 20MnCr5 steel counteracts exactly this: it reduces wear, pressure marks and friction wear at the pin contact.
On the outside, the larger ball size ensures the correct fit in the CAT 3 area, while on the inside the hardened surface helps guide the smaller pin size cleanly for longer. The electrochemical coating provides additional protection and completes the reinforced design.
